Ambre Epices is an outstanding Riad and I would 100% stay again. Ahead of our arrival I received a comprehensive message with lots of details. They asked if I wanted an airport pick up for €25 which I was happy to do as we arrived late at night and Morocco has a closed currency so I was already wondering how I would locate an ATM to pay for a taxi. The pick up was very easy and the cost added onto our room. They offered to cook us dinner on arrival which was 3 courses for €25pp which we were really happy with as we arrived late, and we pre ordered. The food was ready as soon as we arrived and was amazing. The portions were HUGE and so tasty, didn't find a better chicken pastilla for the rest of the holiday! We also pre booked some massages which were great - they sent the costs ahead of time so you can factor it into your trip. The included breakfast was amazing! It was different pastries/cake every day along with bread, juice, tea and eggs. There was loads of it and kept us going until 4pm!! The room was gorgeous, cleaned every day, bed made, new towels etc. Really wonderful bedrooms and quiet area. The location is perfect. It is just next to the Souks so easy access to the madness but far enough away for some peace and quiet at night. The riad is down some alleys which are full of riads and are well lit and felt safe. The location is near a lot of restaurants, Souks, food shops and a taxi rank, so ideal! Finally the staff - oh wow. Every staff member couldn't do enough for you. They are all so friendly and hard working. Komal especially made us feel so welcome, went through all the local sights on a map for us, made recommendations and answered all our questions. I couldn't fault out stay at all. The riad had a beautiful roof top and smaller inside spaces with sofas and a fire for colder months. It was modern but also has the classic Moroccan charms. I'll be going back!!

Really liked the staff, they couldn't do enough for you and were very friendly and welcoming. All the food was really nice, especially the samosas and the breakfast. Great location, tucked away, so quiet but very close to everything. Having breakfast on the rooftop was great and we enjoyed the hammam with a massage afterwards. I would definitely recommend booking a transfer from the airport otherwise the riad would be quite hard to find first time.

I’d like to start by mentioning the exceptional staff and management at the Riad. Despite the location being a bit of a walk, it suited us perfectly. Opting for half board, we enjoyed dinner at the Riad every night, which was delightful. Moreover, they graciously accommodated customizations for the kids, which we truly appreciated.

Excellent riad with just 11 rooms. Staff were always helpful and provided knowledgeable assistance at all times. Breakfast on the roof area was varied and plentiful. Smiling service from Abdul! Mohamed was the riad host and organised our days out at Ourika Valley and Agafay desert resort. Overall a great experience for our 5 night stay.

Food and drinks in Ambre Epices Medina Riad

Beautiful riad close to the bustling medina. Rooms are spacious, nice, and modernized. Breakfast is on the rooftop. The food is plentiful and they change it up a little each day. Tried the spa/ traditional hammam experience. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend booking 1 person at a time vs. 2 people as the rooms are a little small. Staff is very responsive on Whatsapp and kind. We asked them to hold our luggage for us for 2 days before we checked in and they were very accommodating.

Everything! 10/10. Our stay completely exceeded expectations and the service was the best we’d ever experienced. It was great value for money! We organised a private car transfer through the hotel which was more expensive than a taxi (as expected) but so convenient and well worth the money. Once we arrived, the driver called down to the riad and they sent one of the team to come meet us with a luggage trolley. It’s in a central location but down windy pedestrian only streets so it felt very quiet! Once in the riad, we were greeted by a really lovely lady (can’t remember her name now) and she sat us down in some comfy chairs and organised some tea while we filled out the paperwork (passport details etc). This was such a lovely touch! She then talked us through the location of where we were, what was around us etc. and then the experiences and excursions they offer. For a riad (rather than a large hotel), I was really pleasantly surprised that this was something they offered. Our room overlooked one of the two small pools and had a shower. We were given the choice of two rooms but went with this one as the other had a bath; purely preference! The room was very pretty and had all the essentials. We also had some lovely sweet treats waiting in our room on arrival. The experiences offered were amazing and very reasonably priced given the convenience. We had a Hammam experience, a guided walking tour of the souks (a must to get the gist of the markets!), and a cookery course where we picked up all the ingredients from the market. The food was exceptional! There was always something new to try at breakfast. They did a selection of eggs (omelette, fried etc) fresh fruit pot, and pastries. Thank you so much to the team for making our stay unforgettable, particularly Mohammed and Abdul for being so kind to us while we were there. Nothing was too much trouble! We hope to be back again soon!

Siyam and the team couldn't have been more lovely. Sweet and helpful and always around. The Riad is perfect, in a quiet alley yet just a few minutes from the souks. Traditional decor and roof terrace with loungers/beds and a fantastic view to the mountains at breakfast. Very good breakfast, different each day - I could have the OJ on tap! We stayed in a deluxe suite. Black interior which made rather dark, but generally very nice. We were there in January, if it were June I think the cool and dark would be most welcome! I'm not a fan of wet-room bathrooms but that's just a personal preference. Plenty of space. We paid £400 for 3 nights which felt like good value. Ten minutes or so on foot to the square, with shops and restaurants on the doorstep. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to be in the heart of the action but still with peace and quiet. And do the Pikala bike tour of the Medina; highlight of our trip!
